You could save hundreds of pounds a year by switching energy supplier – and it takes just a few minutes to make the switch with our quick and easy comparison service.
It helps if you have a recent bill to hand because it contains pretty much all the information you need to find the best energy deal for your home.
But don’t worry if you can’t find a bill, or if you have just moved into a property, you can still search for a cheaper tariff.
Click on the icon to compare cheap energy prices and suppliers. We then ask you to complete a short online form with your address, name of your supplier and current payment method. If you can tell us your energy tariff, that’s also useful.
Next, we need to know your energy usage – and you can give either your monthly spend or your annual consumption in kWh.
Don’t worry if you don’t have the details of your energy consumption. Our estimation tool can work out a rough figure based on the type of property and number of people in the household.
Finally, fill in how you want to pay for your energy, bearing in mind that it’s usually cheaper to pay by monthly direct debit, and give us your email address.
Click on the See Results icon and up pops a table of top energy deals and how much you can save each year by switching.
You can have a look at the various options and make an informed choice about the best supplier for your home energy.
If you are happy with one of the deals, click ‘apply now’ and fill in the next short form. At this stage, you will be asked for your bank details if you have chosen to pay by direct debit.
It’s really simple, but if at any point you would like to talk to one of our energy advisers, contact our call centre on 0800 171 1931 or select the ‘live chat’ option on the web page.
Your new energy supplier should receive the application form within 24 hours. You should then hear from the company within two weeks with a switching date. The new supplier will also ask for a meter reading so your old utility firm can send a final bill and the new firm knows when to start charging for your energy.
Sit back and relax because you’re all done. The whole process should take no more than three weeks. There should be no need for you to contact your previous supplier and there should be no disruption to your energy supply.
