  • 5-megapixel front camera

Amazing Cameras

Let’s start by saying that the Galaxy S6 Edge features some of the best cameras we’ve seen on a smartphone - and they still hold up pretty well when compared to the snappers found on more recent handsets like the Galaxy S8 or the iPhone 8.

The 16-megapixel rear camera is especially fantastic: it’s fast to start up and to snap pictures, and photos come out looking crisp, colourful and detailed. What’s more, the S6 Edge’s camera app features plenty of options for you to turn your pictures into something worthy of a professional. (Need more proof? The S6 Edge is number 5 on DxOMark’s list of the best smartphone cameras, ahead of the iPhone 6 - so you know it’s truly great.)

QHD Display

While the S6 Edge has a smaller screen than more recent Edge smartphones, it still packs a fantastic display - in fact, the super AMOLED screen packs a resolution of 577 pixels per inch. This translates to QHD resolution, or four times that of standard HD.

The super-high resolution really makes the screen pop. Colours, contrast and brightness are all rich and vibrant, and it’s an ideal smartphone to watch videos or take pictures on. (And with such an incredible camera, why wouldn’t you?)

Wireless Charging, Fast Charge

Samsung were pioneers of wireless charging, and the Galaxy S6 Edge was one of the first handsets to offer this capability. Compatible with both Qi and Powermat wireless charging, the S6 also features fast charging (but only when you use the microUSB cable.)

Samsung sells the Wireless Charging Pad separately - so if you’re perfectly happy using cables to charge your phone, you don’t have to shell out extra!
