Barclays Current Accounts Guide

Barclays Bank is one of the UK's most recognisable high street banking chains, offering a wide range of personal, business and commercial banking to its customers.

The bank has over 1700 UK high street branches (including former Woolwich branches) and millions of people have at least one banking product with Barclays, be it a current account, savings account, mortgage, loan or credit card.

Barclays’ standard current account, the Barclays Bank Account, comes with a Visa Debit card, and offers customers an overdraft facility. Customers are charged a daily fee for using the overdraft facility. You can also register for telephone and online banking with this account. You can also access your account through Mobile Banking and get text alerts about your account sent to your mobile.

If it is a packaged account you are after, which offers additional benefits, you can add extra features to the standard Bank Account for a monthly fee. You can pick the features you want to add to the account, prices start from £6 per month.

Barclays also offers student and graduate accounts, young persons’ accounts and currency accounts.
